Description

Job Summary
This position is responsible for the provision of child welfare and child protection services with children who have experienced child abuse and/or neglect and who are in foster care awaiting permanency. Responsibilities may include intake, assessing children's needs, case management, extensive documentation, involvement with juvenile court, and participating as a collaborative team member in the unit and agency. 

Minimum Qualifications
1) High school diploma, or the equivalent;

2) A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field.

                    OR
    A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.

3) Valid Driver’s License

Note: The incumbent must participate in a minimum of 15 hours per year of continuing education or in-service training as outlined in Minn. Statute 260E.36.


Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday; Weekends/Holidays off

Compensation and Benefits

New approved salary scale $ 67,184 - $87,672 annually - pending implementation. This position is eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits, including state pension plan, vacation time, sick time, personal and holiday leave time. In addition, the position is eligible for the County's health plan; Dental, Vision, and Life insurance; Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts; Long-term and Short-Term Disability; Supplemental Accident, Hospital, and Critical Illness plans; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The County contributes monthly health benefits to aide in the rising of insurance costs with the contribution rate evaluated annually. Additionally, employees have the option to take part of this contribution as cash in lieu of benefits. This position is eligible for telecommuting upon successful completion of probationary period.
