QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; BCA Certified or able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment and re-certified every two years; 1-2 Years Home or Work-Related computer Experience; At least three (3) months experience in data entry; Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, response time needs to be done quickly and calmly.

DUTIES:

The Public Safety Communications Officer is the first responder contact the victim/caller will have via 911 during life or death situation(s), Text to 911 emergency call(s), TTY and/or land line including other emergent and non-emergent requests for multiple jurisdictions within the county. Determine severity of situation, prioritize and dispatch out appropriate emergency personnel. Monitors activities of or stays in contact with caller throughout the emergency, relaying and logging information and requests to and from emergency personnel. Operate and monitor numerous Becker County, regional and statewide radio talk groups during ongoing emergency and non-emergency calls. Refer non-emergency calls to appropriate personnel.

SALARY:
$19.28 - $21.16 per hour, DOE
