2K - Emergency Business Relief Grants
The Becker County Economic Development Authority will oversee the Becker County – Emergency Business Relief Grants Program approved by the Becker County Commission.
This program makes onetime grants of up to $2,000 depending on volume of applications and availability of funds. Businesses must certify they have experienced a financial hardship due to being directed to close their business or modify their business operations due directly to MN Executive Order 20-99 or subsequent order.
The business must operate within the corporate limits of Becker County, MN and have no more than 25 employees as of December 15, 2020.
The businesses that may apply for these funds are:
1. Restaurants – (valid food license)
2. Bars – (valid liquor License)
3. Fitness Centers, Recreations Centers, Museums
4. Movie Theaters
5. Business that are directed to be closed and defined within the MN Executive Order 20-99
If a business is unable to certify that they have experienced an economic loss due to the Executive Order or are not listed within Executive Order 20-99 or subsequent order will be ineligible for this Emergency Business Relief Grant.
Awards will be disbursed to qualified local for-profit and non-profit organizations that meet the definition of MN Executive Order 20-99. Grant funds received by individual businesses shall be used to cover costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic such as; working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, and other similar expenses that occur during the period noted above in the regular course of business. This is a grant, and no repayment will be required.
A one-page application will be located on the Becker County website, which will require signing an agreement, certifying your business is financially impacted by the Order, certifying that grant funds will be used to cover costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic and acknowledging their business is specifically listed within MN Executive Order 20-99 or subsequent Order.
